Warranty F.A.Q.
Q: I recently purchased a new computer, are all the bits n thingies inside covered by a 12 month warranty or do different parts have different warranty periods?

A: By default all hardware of a new computer system have a minimum of 12 months warranty, various component's may have 2 to 3 year or even lifetime back to base warranty.

Q: I spilt liquid on my keyboard, can my keyboard be replaced under warranty?

A: No! Warranty's only cover manufacture or operational defects. Liquids, Act's of God, Dropping of hardware, Over Clocking Etc all fall under "User Abuse" and voids the warranty of that component.

Q: I was playing a game and the screen went funny, my local PC store said the video card had failed when they looked over my computer, What happens next?

A: Depending on store/manufacture's  policy one of two things will happen either:
1). The store will replace the component on the spot.
2). The faulty component will be shipped back to the manufacturer to be tested as faulty by there technicians and a replacement component shipped back to the PC store to be fitted to your computer at no cost to you.

Q: My new computer has warranty seals over the case openings, if i break these seals by opening my computer does this void all warranty on my computer?

A:  No! By breaking the seal of a computer the only warranty you will void is the labour warranty, what this means should a part of your computer fail that component will be diagnosed and replaced but the owner of the pc will have to pay a labour charge for the testing of the faulty component and the fitting of the replacement component.

Q: What about software? is the software that came with my new computer covered by the 12 month warranty?

A:  Only the operating system (usually windows) is covered by a 3 months warranty, what this means is that if the operating system fails to run the new hardware as it should the system builder (place of purchase) is required to configure the operating system to do so, this excludes games, virus, spywear etc.

Q: I joined a 3rd party internet provider after the bundled internet connection free trial expired, is the system builder responsible for support free of charge if something go's wrong with my internet?

A: No! by bundling a trial or free month connection with internet provider X your system builder has agreed to support provider X if problems should arise. Internet difficulties should be resolved with the internet provider you are subscribing too.
